Day 1
Fly to Victoria Falls and meet up with your personal Bushtrails safari guide. A short transfer takes you to the Victoria Falls and your hotel. Enjoy lunch before taking a short tour of the towns many shops and markets. Enjoy a sundowner cruise on the mighty Zambezi River as we bid farewell to our first day on safari and ponder all the adventures that lie ahead (activity optional). Dinner at the Jungle Junction, Victoria Falls Hotel.
Day 2
Spend the day in the Victoria Falls area taking part in a variety of am and pm adventure activities: The elephant encounter, game drives, white water rafting, canoe trips, bungee jumping, gorge swinging, helicopter flips, etc. (activities optional). In between activities we take some time to visit the largest waterfall on earth, Victoria Falls, known to the locals as Mosi-Oa-Tunya, which translates to “the smoke that thunders”. Dinner at the Boma Restaurant where the drumming band will keep you entertained while you feast!
Day 3
Travel west into Botswana and the town of Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River. Arrive in time for lunch followed by a wildlife boat cruise on the Chobe River, possible sightings include elephant, hippo, cape buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, zebra, blue wildebeest, kudu, and an array of bird species. Return to the lodge for another delicious African dinner.
Day 4
Grab a cup of coffee before your early morning game drive in Chobe National Park, this national park boasts a large variety of wildlife including some predator species such as lion and leopard. Return to the lodge for brunch before we travel further west and enter Namibia at Ngoma Border Post. We travel down the pan handle of Namibia, referred to as the Caprivi strip, and reach our place of stay on the Kwando River at around lunch time. Game drive time!! We explore the Susuwe Core area of Bwabwata National Park and end the day with a sundowner at the Horse Shoe, a favorite drinking spot for the elephants in the area.
Day 5
The lodge offers a fantastic morning boat cruise to explore the Kwando River and it’s abundant bird life, this is one of best places in Africa to view birdlife, if you are a bird watcher this is a must for you (activity optional). Other wildlife you could run into include hippo’s and crocodiles. A 2 hour drive through Bwabwata National Park takes us to the Okavango River where we visit Popa Falls before continuing to our place of stay. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool, go on a boat cruise or try your hand at tiger fishing on the Okavango River (activity optional). We take a late afternoon drive through Mahangu National Park, possible sightings include elephant, lion, leopard, cape buffalo, roan sable, giraffe, zebra, impala and various other plains game species.
Day 6
A morning game drive through Mahango National Park gets us started for the day before travelling further west to the town of Rundu. Get checked in at the lodge before visiting a Kavango Living Museum to learn more about their culture. Return to the lodge and take some time to relax at the pool or deck overlooking the Okavango River. The lodge offers a sunset boat cruise that is highly recommended (activity optional).
Day 7
Get ready to tour the Bushman Living Cultural Museum. Spend half the day with the Bushman learning more about their culture and bush skills. Etosha National Park is our next destination where we’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park. We’ll overnight at a lodge on the eastern border of Etosha National Park.
Day 8
Enjoy the entire day on a game drive in Etosha National Park. We’ll be driving between waterholes and packing in as many wildlife sightings as possible. This will no doubt be one of the favorite parts of your trip. It’s like waking up in the National Geographic Channel! Possible sightings include elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and many other plains game species. We overnight at a resort inside the park where the floodlit waterhole will keep you entertained for the evening.
Day 9
We travel south towards Okonjima and the Afri-cat foundation to start off the day. In the afternoon, we’ll go leopard tracking with an open-top game drive vehicle that allows you to get closer to these spectacular cats than you ever thought possible. After dinner, choose to go on a night drive to view some of Africa’s nocturnal animals. (activity optional)
Day 10
We get up early to visit the Afri-Cat Carnivore Centre and go on a cheetah excursion. Return to the lodge for a delicious brunch. Travel south and arrive at Erindi Game Reserve, one of the largest private reserves in Africa. Enjoy a delicious lunch overlooking the waterhole before heading out into the reserve on an afternoon game drive. End the day with a sundowner drink overlooking the savannahs of Africa.
Day 11
We get up early for a morning game drive and return to the lodge for brunch. We travel south to Okahandja and the famous woodcarvers market where you’ll get the opportunity to barter for that something special from Africa to take home with you. We do a short city tour of Windhoek and visit the craft center before enjoying a delicious lunch at the world famous Joe’s Beerhouse. Your guide will transfer you to your hotel of choice. Final Safari day accommodation is not included, please let us know if you require accommodation, we will happily arrange this for you.
Departure Day
If you require an airport transfer your guide will ensure you make it to the airport well in time for your flight back home.
