Days
Day 1
Your Guide picks you up and you travel along the N1 via the Du Toitskloof mountains through the little Karoo (half desert). Route 62 is South Africa’s longest wine route and we stop at interesting places. We do a wine tasting along the way to sample the wines of the Little Karoo. A quick stop in Barrydale and off we go via Calitzdorp to Oudtshoorn.
Day 2
Today we visit the world renowned Cango Caves. The spectacular formation of stalagmites and stalactites will enchant you. Then we continue our journey over the 1500m high Swartberg Pass. This mountain range separates the Little from the Big Karoo. We take a breather in Prince Albert, before we make our way back through the fertile Prince Albert Valley and the breathtaking Meiringspoort to Oudtshoorn.
Day 3
We travel through Willowmore and Steytlerville through the Little Karoo, to Kirkwood and Addo.
Day 4
Today we do a full day safari in our own vehicle. We enter the Addo Elephant Park in the North and spend the day looking for animals. The park boasts the Big 7 as the only Park in the world. From humble beginnings in 1930 with 11 elephants, the Park has expanded over the years and now boasts about 800 elephants.
Day 5
We leave the Addo region and travel via Port Elizabeth, along the N2 to Tsitsikamma National Park. Here we can do a 1km walk to South Africa’s longest suspension bridge which spans the Storms River. If that is too strenuous for you, just relax and enjoy the spectacular panorama. From here, we go to view the worlds highest bungy jump at Bloukrans Bridge. It has a place in the
Guiness Book of records.
Day 6
We explore Knysna and do an excursion to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. (Weather Permitting.) Here we are spoilt with a scrumptious lunch followed by a walk through the natural vegetation. We view the Knysna Heads and ferry back to the harbour. In the evening we have time to meander through the tiny Waterfront, before we go to dinner. Knysna is known for its lovely seafood especially the oysters.
Day 7
We leave Knysna and travel along the N2 south. In Mossel Bay we stop to view the replica of the caravelle that Bartholomew Diaz used to circumvent the Cape, before we make our way back to Cape Town.
Departure Day
